Process
I knew I wanted to create apparel related to the cold northern Arctic as well as incorporate the colour navy blue. So, after extensive research into names relating to the Arctic, I came across competitors such as North Face and another company with a similar name. I realized I’d need to make some distinct changes, but also make my logo stand out, yet still hold a business standard. I went through many names but landed on Artiq as it’s unique and will be read as Arctic. The A shape with a winter scape is what inspired a lot of the designs as it was part of the inspiration from the research itself and early thumbnailing stages. After figuring out the direction I wanted to go, more aspects went along easier such as; the letterhead, business cards, and envelopes. A lot of this project fell together in a whirlwind way. This is Artiq.
