Process
Since this was a more personal project, I’d say it was a lot harder to create as there were a lot more thoughts on how I wanted people to perceive and take away from the design from my own book. So, I started by picking an era in which I wanted to emulate; Art Deco. After, I painstakingly went over the common themes and motifs within the story itself and narrowed down the key story elements throughout each book. Black holes, the sun, and stars have a huge part it in and so I went through with designing until I felt happy with the way it appeared. The colour themes were also an important choice as gold, black, and white have significance in the story.
